MONKEYWRENCH can be found tucked away in the heart of downtown Salt Lake City! They offer a variety of dairy-free and vegan ice cream, from the typical flavors you’re used to, to more unique options. All of their ice cream is made in small-batch, so the cone you get is as fresh as possible. While their primary focus is on ice cream, Monkeywrench also has a full coffee-bar and housemade treats!
Monkeywrench is located at the Gallivan Center, at 53 E Gallivan Ave, Salt Lake City, UT 84111. They currently have a walk-up window where you can view their menu and order. Prior to 2020, their storefront was open for customers to stop in and enjoy their treats indoors. While there’s no longer seating inside, there are tables and seats set up for you to enjoy your ice cream outside.
One of the things I really enjoy about Monkeywrench is their ongoing rotation of flavors! It’s always great to see a new selection of ice cream during every visit. They like to switch things up and make sure they have a variety of flavors for everyone. From chocolatey to fruity, you’ll find something to enjoy! Lavender Ice Cream
Mint chocolate chip ice cream has been my go-to ice cream for as long as I can remember. If any ice cream shop has a mint flavored ice cream, that’s my choice! When I go to Monkeywrench, I have the hardest time deciding what I’m going to order! I want to choose their mint chip, but they have so many flavors that sound delicious! One of those flavors that I’ve learned I love is lavender! When I go I usually order a regular, which comes with two scoops of your choice. I know I’m always getting a scoop of lavender with whatever other flavor I decide on!
Hot Fudge Sundae
I’m usually more of a ‘two-scoops in a cup’ type of person, which can be hard when there’s so many options to choose from! Thankfully, my partner always comes through with trying out flavors or options that may not have been my first choice! One of those that she picks on occasion is the hot fudge sundae! Monkeywrench makes a really good sundae too! You’re able to mix up the scoops for the sundae, so you’re able to make it custom! The hot fudge and coconut whipped cream they top it with make it that much tastier!
Pint of Ice Cream
Grabbing a scoop of ice cream is nice for when you’re taking a quick trip downtown. What are you supposed to do when you head back home and you’re craving some more of your favorite? Monkeywrench comes through with their pints, which come in an assortment to choose from! Many of the flavors available to order as individual scoops are ready to go in pint form!
